Jaymie Basse’s journey with H&P began over seven years ago, and in that time, she has proven herself to be an asset to the company. What started as an opportunity to join a supportive, enthusiastic team has blossomed into a fulfilling career where Basse has not only honed her professional skills, but also brought her unique talents and passions to bear. As an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Coordinator, Basse’s days are filled with a whirlwind of responsibilities, from handling asset and work order requests to coordinating audits.
“The majority of my time is dedicated to handling requests related to assets, work orders and audit information,” she explained. “I begin my day by reviewing emails, participating in morning meetings, and checking service tickets to ensure everyone has the necessary access. But most importantly if a rig is being recommissioned or audited, I try to get them what they need first because it’s crucial for their day-to-day operations.”
Despite the hectic pace, Basse approaches each task with unparalleled passion and innovation. “I’m the type of person that gets bored easily,” she noted, “and this problem has never come up in my position. There’s always something new to tackle.”
This innovative spirit extends beyond Basse’s professional life. As an avid baker, she has channeled her creativity into elaborate, personalized treats for her others. “If a project at work comes up, sometimes the straight answer solution isn’t the best. I believe that’s where my initiative and innovative spirit come in. I try to think outside the box on tricky tasks,” she added.
Basse’s baking skills have even evolved into a small side business, where she creates custom cakes and desserts for friends, family and the local community.
“Working alongside my supervisor, Mark Bundy, and Principal International Operations Support Engineer Cesar Avellaneda on international rigs, they provide me with invaluable encouragement,” she shared. “Their confidence in my ability to complete tasks efficiently and accurately has greatly enhanced my self-assurance in my role.”
Beyond her technical prowess, Basse’s commitment to work-life balance and her colleagues’ well-being make her a truly exceptional employee. As a single mother, she deeply appreciates H&P's flexibility, noting, “Just being able to be here when my son gets home from school, or if he’s sick, or off on breaks, I get to be with him and that’s something I’ll truly forever be grateful for.”
As Basse reflects on her time at H&P, she shared, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my tenure here, for the people I work alongside are the essence of my experience. Both within my team and across the broader organization, I have created bonds. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this exceptional company.”
